Matt had been a client of our Bike Fitting Studio, Velo Atelier for a couple of years and had often mentioned that he would like to commission a custom frame sometime in the future...

We had fitted Isla for a couple of years at our studio Velo Atelier, and when her old production bike had reached the end of its life she decided to commission us to make a custom frame that would fit her perfectly...

One of the best things about building custom frames is the ability to keep people cycling even when they thought they would have to give it up.
This bike was built for a lady with a severe hip impingment who struggled to even get onto a normal bike let alone pedal it.
By developing a step through frame with the help of Solidworks FEA and the use of 135mm cranks our client is now whizzing around the lanes with a new lease of life.

So great to visit the Rapha20 Past Forward exhibition last weekend to celebrate 20 years of Rapha.
Not many people know this but @simonmottramrapha was instrumental in the naming of our company, having kindly offered his thoughts on our original business plan and the name Meteor Works and its connection to our location came out of his advice.
Thank you Simon for helping to change British and global cycling. Here’s to another 20 years.

The latest Bespoke frame enters paint. This is a lightweight Columbus XCR rim brake road bike with external cabling. Its a style of bike we seem to be asked for more and more right now.

We fitted some of these new Muc-Off Big Bore valves for the first time this morning and the quality is certainly good. Adding and removing air with a push on valve is a little tricky as you have to twist the ball valve with one hand whilst holding the pump head on with the other.

Very excited at the prospects this opens up. A dedicated TRP shifter set for drop bars to operate the Pinion Gear box.

10 points to anyone who can tell us what it does.

We were lucky enough to attend Eurobike last week in Frankfurt and got to see the cutting edge of products in the industry right now.

Over the next few days we will be highlighting some of the cool things we saw that probably won't make it to the mainstream media.

First off its awesome to see white Ones Porcupine tyres available again. They were an icon of 90s MTB culture and those of us old enough to remember them will understand our excitement at seeing them again.

We also got the chance to catch up with Keith and the rest of the team from Reynolds. It's crazy to think that even though Keith lives less than 5 miles from the studio we have to travel across Europe to get the time to have a chat. They had some awesome new tubes on display including a huge opposed oval which Lee is already dreaming up designs for.

the cyclo stand had an amazing array of tools on display. The one with lusted after the most was definitely this spoke threading tool which puts our current one to shame.

After extensive testing We’re thrilled to present a new addition to the extremely popular RESTRAP Race Range:

The Race Top Tube Bag Short. This third, smaller size, keeps many of the same design elements that make the current Race Top Tube Bags great, except they’ve now added the option of being bolted to the bosses, commonly found on gravel bikes, as shown here on one of our Meteor Works Æsir frames

Built to be practical and functional, the bag is held firmly in place with an adjustable MOLLE hypalon fitting combined with one of our Fast Straps, which allows the bag to function seamlessly with all Restrap Frame Bags. The rear strap can be removed to allow the bag to function as a Bolt-On Top Tube Bag if preferred.

A rigid internal plastic structure keeps the bag upright and stable and the universal headset fitting accommodates all headsets, including bikes with a low stack height or wider aero head tubes. A stretch mesh side pocket provides storage for nutrition, wrappers and other on-the-fly essentials.

The internal compartment has a foam base to add structure and prevent rattle while on the move.
